Article Summary

Obama and McCain’s Battle gets heated towards the End.

As the Election Day gets closer and closer, both Obama and McCain are deffiently not going to give up until the end. Both McCain and Obama with only a day left until the election are now being very defensive towards each other including their vice presidents. Sarah Palin recently attacked Obama for a comment that he stated about wanting to bankrupt the coal industry. Barack Obama explained his plan to the San Francisco Chronicle this year, early this year. And he said that, sure, if the industry wants to build coal fired power plants, then they can go ahead and try, he says, but they can do it only in a way that will bankrupt the coal industry and he’s comfortable letting that happen.

After watching this film. I realized how careful and conscientious you have to be about almost everything you do. Not only regarding politics, but everything since its so easy to trick the minds of other people with the right connections. I thought that the fact that this happened to the people of Florida in 2000 was horrible and it should have never happened. The fact of the election was undermined should be enough for anyone to see how wrong this was, but It didn't work for most people. I'm glad to know that the state of Maine uses paper ballots instead of the touch screen ballots to vote. Just knowing that you're vote is on a piece of technology would make me uncomfortable thinking that someone could mess with the touch device. I'm not aware of which states if any use the touch devices to vote, but I'm glad to know that Maine uses paper. I'm sure that's reassuring to many state citizens.

Debates

I think that after watching all three debates so far, that this last debate we watched was the the most interesting to watch. I think that since this was the last debate until the debate that both candidates wanted to make sure that they got to say every possible thing they could, since this is the last major advertising for them until the election. This past debate was very important for both McCain and Obama since this is such a close election. I would say that the second presidential debate was the hardest to sit through because it was more of a continuation of the first.

HQ Questions

Question # 1. About how many people do you have on an average day visit the HQ?
Answer. They just opened and havn't had to many people come on yet, but they are still getting the word out that they are located there.

Question # 2. Do you think Obama will visit Maine before the election?
Answer. I never got to ask this question, but my own thoughts are that he won't come to Maine again before the election. He is very busy and came to Maine a little while ago.

Debate

During the debate, I thought that Obama was more well spoken then McCain. Both studdered at different times, but for the most part Obama spoke his thoughts better than McCain. McCain is a very good speaker, but he takes to long to think of what he is going to say. Obama speaks faster and there for I think that Obama knows what he is going to say ahead of time. Obama and McCain both used hand motions and body movement when addressing a question, but McCain used more body movement than Obama did. Though Obama used his hands more when speaking than McCain did.

Let me make this pledge to you right here and now. For every American who is trying to do the right thing, for all those people in government who are honouring their pledge to uphold the law and respect our Constitution, no longer will the eight most dreaded words in the English language be: "The vice president's office is on the phone."

I think what Joe Biden is saying here is that he is ready to take the vice presidency and he is saying that he won't be sitting around doing nothing. He will always be working on something important. He doesn't want people to be doing nothing, he wants people to be fighting for what they want.
